Sr. Rookie coaches organized a "select" tournament team from our 3 house league teams.  They entered a "select" tournament in Thornbury July 7-8.  They did amazing, losing in the finals!  I'd like to thank all those involved in organizing this opportunity for our young players to experience a higher level of competition.  We are proud of them for showing everyone that Wasaga has so many great ball players!

2018 Sr. Rookie Select Tournament Team

An update from Coach Scott Bradley:

WBMBA entered a Sr. Rookie Select Team on the weekend in the Beaver Valley annual Tournament. We played 3 games Sat. going  2- 1. With wins over Innisfil All Stars 15-0, Innisfil Select Team  18 – 3 . Then losing a tighter game than the score indicated to Stayner 9-3. Sunday we needed to beat the host team to make the Finals . In a very close game Wasaga won 6-5 . Giving the boys 1st tournament experience  an exciting finish. We played Stayner in the final and kept in close till the 4th inning,  where we gave up the inning max of 5 runs as Stayner broke it open. The final was 10 – 6

The 4 players from our squad played well ( Maddux, Sawyer, Ethan & Kane). Maddux lead the team going 11 for 13 (.846) with 4 TRIPLES! Sawyer made an incredible diving over the shoulder catch at 3rd base in the Final and had 9 hits, one was the team’s only Home Run of the Tournament. Kane hit 4 singles 2 doubles and 2 Triples, Ethan with 8 hits lead the team with 7 RBI’s.  Mickey Milne who plays for Wasaga team 1 was team MVP of the Tournament. We played by some very different rules on the weekend. The kids adapted well.
